Taryn Chin

“To be of support, helping people transform life’s trials into enhanced opportunities. Finding sweetness in the bitter moments of life. To be comfortable with who they are, so that others will appreciate it.”

Taryn wrote this to herself back in graduate school as her career mission statement. This statement holds true for every person she meets no matter where they are in their personal development. Human beings are complex and the world we live in can be difficult to navigate. Her therapeutic philosophy is first and foremost person-centered. This creates trust, empathy, and the ability to courageously share the internal turmoil so healing and change can occur. Overall, Taryn’s approach is holistic, focusing on the whole person: mind, body, soul, and spirit. She uses a combination of person-centered, existential, DBT, and somatic experiencing.

Taryn specializes in (but is not limited to) working with adolescents and young adults, with emphasis in racial and cultural care. She has also assisted many clients who are dealing with anxiety, depression, self-esteem, identity conflict, racial identity, and relationships & attachment. She is additionally trained in DBT and prepare and enrich premarital counseling.

Taryn wants to be a part of your self-exploration, growth, and healing.
