Victoria Cabral is a Yale University trained and ANCC Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She graduated magna cum laude from Yale University in 2016, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a specialty in Psychiatric-Mental Health across the lifespan; she graduated summa cum laude from Quinnipiac University in 2012, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Victoria began her career in 2012 providing in-home therapy services to at-risk youth and families. She then worked as a Registered Nurse at a private psychiatric hospital providing inpatient care to adolescents and adults with mental health disorders and co-occurring substance use disorders. Before joining The Collective in September 2020, Victoria spent four years working in community mental health where she provided outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment to adults with acute and chronic mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders, and spent three years providing integrated mental health treatment to children and adolescents at a pediatric primary care office. Victoria values a client centered and holistic approach to psychiatric mental health care, motivating clients to be active participants in their treatment and involved in shared-decision making, utilizing complementary and alternative medicine in addition to evidence-based psychiatry, and incorporating brief psychotherapy into clients’ medication management appointments. Her clinical interests include mood and anxiety disorders, trauma related illnesses, perinatal and postpartum mental health, and LGBTQ+ mental health.
